![]() ![]() During the weekends, it’ll definitely be a bit more crowded, so you’ll want to go on the early or later end 12pm is the worst time to try and park. There’s tons of parking available right outside the visitor center. ![]() There are reports that people have died here, do not swim if the river is high. The Flume is really easy to find (it’s right off I-93). Also another parking area on the right just a little further down the road. Many places to jump into the water and lots of places to explore. Then below second falls river opens up into large swimming hole, large rocks, people swimming. First you’ll see massive fall with a giant rock in the middle that is the start of flume, you’ll want to go down to the second falls, from there you can swim up the flume about 7-800 feet up to first waterfall but it will be tiring and against the current. Explore the Flume Gorge, a spectacular 800-foot-long gorge with waterfalls, bridges and pools at the base of Mount Liberty. Hike either north or south side of river about 5 min, with trails on the end of each guardrail on the opposite side of road from parking lot. 44★59N 71☄012W / 44.09972°N 71.67000°W The Flume Gorge (locally, just The Flume) is a natural gorge extending 800 ft (240 m) horizontally at the base of Mount Liberty in Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire, United States.
